中心簡介 Introduction

成立緣起與宗旨

(The) Purposes and Goals (of the center)

                                                                                                                    

一、為提升本校學生外語能力,支援本校外語教學與學習活動,特依據本校組織規程第8條之規定,訂定致理科技大學教務處語言中心設置要點(以下簡稱本要點),設置致理科技大學教務處語言中心(以下簡稱本中心)

To enhance students’ linguistic ability and support language teaching and learning activities, Chihlee University of Technology created this introduction and set up language center (hereinafter called the center) according to article 8 of organization regulations.

 

二、本中心置主任一人,綜理中心業務,並置職員若干人,負責語言教室(含語言自學教室)之管理、維護、報修與借用,並辦理支援教師教學、學生學習及社會服務等相關業務。

The center is mainly supervised by the director, with the assistance of a number of permanent workers and part-timers responsible for the management and maintenance of language classrooms(including self-learning classrooms), and supporting both teachers and students.

 

三、本中心之業務如下: "The purposes of the center include”

(一)支援教學 Supporting Teaching

1.更新、維護、報修及管理語言教室中教學單位所需之各種多媒體軟硬體設備。

Updating, maintaining and managing various multimedia software and hardware in language classrooms.

2.蒐集及薦購外語教學教材與相關教學資源。

Collecting and purchasing language teaching material and related resources.

3.主辦或協辦外語教學法之研討與觀摩會,精進有效之教學方法。

Holding or sponsoring language teaching seminars and symposiums, in order to refine the existing teaching methods.

4.協助教師使用語言教室之多媒體軟硬體設備。

Assisting teachers to use the multimedia software and hardware in language classrooms.

5.協辦外語能力分級測驗,推動適性教學與學習之機制;協辦外語學習評量測驗,評估適性教學與學習機制之實施成效。

Sponsoring language proficiency tests and setting up an optimum teaching and learning mechanism; sponsoring language learning evaluation tests, evaluating the effectiveness of teaching and learning mechanism.

(二)協助學習 Assisting Learning

1.協助營造校園外語學習及應用環境。

Assisting creating an English-friendly campus.

2.主辦或協辦學生外語學藝競賽活動。

Holding or sponsoring student language competitions.

3.規劃及管理語言自學教室,增進學生利用課餘時間外語練習機會。

Planning and managing language self-learning classrooms, in order to provide more opportunities to students to practice second languages.

4.蒐集校外各種外語能力檢定測驗或評量工具之資訊。

Collecting information concerning various language proficiency or evaluation tests.

5.開辦外語能力檢定測驗輔導課程,協助學生通過各種外語能力測驗及認證。

Launching language proficiency test tutorial programs, in order to assist students to gain various language certificates.

6.籌辦海外外語研習活動。

Organizing language learning schemes overseas.

(三)社會服務 Commissioned Work

1.配合委託機構規劃,協辦「多益測驗(TOEIC)」。

Helping various organizations organize “TOEIC test.”

2.配合政府國際化政策,協助校外語言測驗機構辦理「全民英檢(GEPT)」、「美國法學院入學測驗(LSAT)」、「美國護士考試(CGFNS)」、「日本語能力測驗」及「科見美語全民英語能力分級檢定測驗」等外語能力檢定考試。

  Assisting various language testing institutes to organize “GEPT test”, “LSAT test”, “CGFNS test”, “Japanese Language Proficiency Test”and “Kojen English General English Proficiency Test”, among many others.

四、本要點經行政會議通過,陳請校長核定後實施,修正時亦同。

This introduction was carried by the executive meeting and certified by the president before its promulgation. It shall follow the same procedure when being revised.
